Search marketers should worry if Facebook’s shares gain value based on increased marketing traffic, since Facebook represents a “closed” system, and search results will become less relevant as more activity and data – including recommendations and e-commerce – move behind its walls.
Comcast has reached an agreement with Nielsen to begin testing commercial ratings for viewing that takes place on iPads and other mobile devices starting this summer. If successful, the system would give advertisers an aggregated look at viewing habits across all platforms.
According to Valtteri Hongisto, a researcher at Finland’s Institute of Occupational Health, “Noise is the most serious problem in the open-plan office, and speech is the most disturbing type of sound because it is directly understood in the brain’s working memory.”
