Apple Reveals Upcoming Features in iPhone OS 4.0

Today Steve Jobs and company revealed the next generation of iPhone and iPad software enhancements. This news comes less than a year after the release of iPhone OS 3.0 and mere days following the launch of the iPad on April 3.

Among the many new features that iPhone (and iPad) OS 4.0 will offer are:

• Multitasking apps
• Ability to organize apps in folders
• Revamped Mail application with unified inbox
• iBooks on iPhone
• Social-gaming network (”Game Center”)
• Built-in advertising network (”iAd”)

This latest OS is slated to be available to iPhone users this summer and will be coming to the iPad in the fall.
